Aaron is a freelance musician who performs in a wide variety of ensembles. As well as being a casual violist with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra, he has performed with a number of fringe shows, including the award winning City of Shadows, which went on to perform seasons in New York and Melbourne. He also played in Barking Gecko’s critically acclaimed production of Duck Death and the Tulip as part of the Perth International Arts Festival. In addition to this, Aaron sings as a bass with the eclectic choir The Spooky Men of the West, plays violin with Indian/jazz fusion group Nadis, and is a member of the nationally acclaimed Decibel new music ensemble. It is with this last group that he has been involved in programming the Decibel ScorePlayer, the group’s cutting edge, animated graphic notation software for the iPad. As a conductor, Aaron has directed various small ensembles at both UWA and WAAPA during his time there as a student and as a graduate, has conducted the WA Youth Orchestra as part of an internship with the organisation, and has conducted a number of community orchestras, most recently the Allegri Chamber Orchestra.
